All about little old me

Recipe wallet - it's taken me forever!

This has taken me all morning and most of the afternoon as either I'm a bit thick (yes I hear you shout!) or the instructions are poo for this template? It's from Papertrey Ink and a freebie Recipe wrap-up. I had loads of trouble trying to work out what bits struck to what and which way up it should go, so I just made it up in the end and decorated over any mistakes. I really love the finished product and just need to type up some of my fav recipes to go inside. The papers are from my stash but I can't remember what they're called, which is a real pity as I'd like some more as this used the last of mine up, right down to the tiniest scraps which I made paper buttons from with my big shot die.

The worlds biggest courgette!!!!!?

Now check this beast out! When I got back from work on Sunday evening my husband said I've got a surprise for you? Now that's usually means trouble (in a good way!) so I said 'What?' and he handed me this monster! so I had to take a photo for my blog just to make you all have a good giggle this morning. I've not taken most notice of what my courgette plant has been doing over the last couple weeks and this is what it's been up to World demination I think! Just a bit scared to go out in the garden now in case the frogs have been eating the courgettes and have grown this big as well! Help me!!!!!!!!!!!

My Mum's birthday card

This is the card that I made for my Mum for her birthday this week, it's the most yummy image from Mo's digital pencil called Fairy Tabia. I've coloured her with copics and then sprayed over the top with glimmer mists just to give her shimmer that every fairy should have. I used my big shot texture plates for the background and then sprayed with glimmer mists again. It's a simple card but my Mum loved it.

Pink & Grey bookmark

Another couple challenges in one again. This is for Just Magnolia, colours of grey & pink and an optional black and Bee crafty make a bookmark (with a free download)
I've used the free download of a pile of books and sat this cute little Tilda on the top. I've coloured with copics and a little bit of glitter pen. I've used a grommet thingy put in with my big bite (which I am still struggling to master!) I've added a couple bit of ribbon and some paper flowers with brads. Hope you like?

3 in 1 challenge

Now this card it for 3 challenges, check me out getting all brave! The sketch is for Papertake weekly challenge. The colours are from 'Buzz off' at Cute card Thursday (Black & yellow) and finally a new one for me since buying some Miss Anya stamps is Anyone for Anya, funky flowers.
The image is of course a Miss Anya stamp coloured with copics and some sukara glitter pens. The cardstock is Bling and some odd pearly card from my stash. The sentiment is a rub-on I've had for ages and just thought it was a little different from the norm. I made the funky flowers from a circle punch distressed and inked with paper buttons and brads added.

Some yummy candy

This candy is also posted on my sidebar but I needed to add two links and wasn't quite sure how to do that there? So this candy is from the wonderful Jacqui check out her blog it's fab! And the candy has been donated by Sara at Crafters Companion who have lots of lovely new stuff!

Some of my handmade jewellery

Here's a few bit and bobs I've made ages ago. My jewellery mojo is lacking at the moment but I need to relight it as I've arranged to do a jewellery and card party for one of my work collegues next week. You know when you just sit there looking at your pile of stash with not a clue what to do? Well that's me at the moment! I'll upload some more pics to my sidebar as soon as the computer and blogger decide that it's not going to take 3 weeks to load the info! Ran out of patience waiting for it.

A spoon full of sugar - sketch

I've flipped this one around a bit to suit my nesties and the papers which I'd found in my 12x12 stash. Not sure what they're called sorry. The flowers I've sprayed with a little glimmer mist just to brighten them up a bit. The image is a gorguss girl coloured with copics. Not quite sure where I was going with the colour scheme here but I think it kinda works?
My camera memory card is full up and I need to have a digital sort out tomorrow. I still don't have my own computer back as yet. ( Not sure what my neighbours done with mine?) Think I'll load the other photo's onto snapfish or something and cyberspace can look after them for me. Day off tomorrow so hopefully some time to chill out?

Sweetpeas ahh pretty!!!!

Check out these beauties! My garden is quite full of colour this autumn, keep that sun shining please.

Faking it - Papertake weekly challenge

You know when things just come together really easily well this one did! I'd coloured the image last night whilst watching telly. I know the colours are a bit unusual together but I like it and it feels really autumnal. The image is a gorguss girl coloured with copics, the 'fake it' flowers are made with papers from a basic grey 6x6 pad with paper buttons from craftwork cards on the smaller flowers and buttons from my stash on the larger flowers. I embossed the backing cardstock with a new big shot folder. Oval is cut with a nestie.
Now I've got to go off to work in a minute, lets hope that this week is not the same nightmare week as last week? I've had a lovely relaxing weekend and don't want to spoil the calm feeling I have just at this moment in time!

Tea bag love!

This is for Cute card Thursday challenge 'Hidden treasure' Sorry Victoria (hope you don't mind?) I nicked your idea and made a teabag holder. I used Pink Petticoat papers and Polka Doodles papers and found some wrapped teabags in my local Tesco this morning. What a great gift and fun to make too. Going out now my husband's bored and it's too nice to stay indoors anyway.

My Livingstone daisies are just to pretty

I just couldn't resist taking another photo of my Livingstone daisies today, the sun was shining and these just looked so beautiful. The sun's gone in now and they've all closed up again, nature is so clever!

My twist on Mojo Monday #104

Now I didn't have anything that would cut out the correct sized circle so I used my oval nesties instead. This is one of my new Miss Anya stamps coloured with copics. The papers are the bestest ever Basic grey, one of my fav pads of 6x6. The buttons and scrap of ribbon are from my stash. Simple but I love the colours.

Here are few more cards I've made over the last couple evenings just to destress from the week from hell at work!

Now I've sorted out some of the techo problems I can craft!!!

This is for two challenges Sketch & stash and Cupcake crafts.
Sketch and stash asks you to use new stash or long unused stash. This is new stash, Miss Anya stamps from the greeting farm popped through my letter box today ( I was going to say morning but my postman never seems to make the morning!) these are part of my belated birthday gift from my husband. I've coloured with copics (see selection behind bottom photo) The Cupcake craft part of the card is Pearls and Swirls which is from the Pink Petticoat paper and diecut swirl and I didn't have any pearl brad in the right colour so I used liquid pearls in silver pearl instead.

Me and Technology are not having a good day!

Me and techology are not getting along this morning. I bought some digital images from the very talented Mo's digital pencil this morning, are after much colourful language at my poor computer managed to download and then tried to print off. I can't resize the images for love nor money, I don't own any software like photoshop or the like so if someone could point me in the right direction for something free that would do the job it would be great!

Anyhoo I did manage to get at least one printed off at a size which was useable, so I've used the sketch on Create4fun this week. Isn't this image just so adorable, I've coloured it with copics and then added some sukara glitter pen to bling it up. The card is brazzil bling and the paper is spring floral tapestry from the paper company, the ribbon is from my stash. The metal snowflake embellishments I've had for ages and can't remember where they're from?

Now going to lie in a darkened room for a while I think away from computers, even the bloody telly was playing up earlier, ahhhhhhhh!

Sugar bowl challenge and lovely tea!

Now I've been making the most of some time at home, it's been lovely, my daughter cooked the most delish tea of steak pie (from scratch, it really is a lie what they say about student cooking!)
She also made a lemon cheesecake the other night which I hadn't tried cos we ate out most of yesterday and that was wonderful as well, don't want her to go back to Nottingham now for more than the usual selfish mother reason.

Anyhoo, here's my card for Marlene's sketch at the sugar bowl, it was to use pink and brown as well which is always a fav combo. I used a gorguss girl coloured with copics, (My local craft store had an open day on today so managed to pick up some new colours for 10% off, bargain!) and some pink petticoat papers. The brads on the right hand corner I coloured with my copics to match the rest of the colours and then blinged them up with some embossing powders.

Cute card Thursday # 77

'Strawberry Mint Julep' I know this is a bit more strawberry than mint but I think it counts? I've used a Frillie Millie digi image this is Bonbon from Pink Petticoat matted and layered with my nesties onto some green cardstock which I had embossed with a big shot embossing folder. The image is coloured with copics, I've punched out flowers and added some gems for a bit of bling. The sentiment and papers behind it is from a freebie from Pink Petticoat.

Colour Create challenge #27

The colours this week on colour create challenge are neon green and black, this was fun to do. Even though I do not like, I say again I do not like frogs this digi image from Pink Petticoat 'Hoppy wishes' is really cute. I've coloured it with copics. The papers are printed from 'Now that's funky cd from Funky hand, I've cut them out using my new nesties now I have the correct kit to use them. The ribbon and black plastic circle thingy are from my stash. I've decorated the inside of the card with the leftover off cuts after I realised that I'd cut the wrong size oval to fit my card, but I think it's worked pretty well?

Been out for a yummy meal

As my daughter is home for the week, we decided to push the boat out and go for a meal. So we ended up at a pub about 10 miles away from home that one of Asher friends has been working at during the summer and it is also a place my husband spent months rebuilding after a massive fire. It was the best meal I've had in a very long time, worth every single penny.

We came back to the local pub for a drink but I decided to come home so Dad and Daughter can have a bit of bonding time together, both love to drink and I'm not so hot on spending the evening in a pub. So god knows what time they'll roll in?

Asher and I have had a lovely girly day going round the shops, going for cups of tea and cake and then to get our hair cut. I'm sporting a new 'do' again. Love a change me! Have hidden the grey hairs and feel much better again now.

I grew these from seed...........

Livingstone daisies.

Check these babies out! I grew these from seed and they flowered today in the beautiful bright sunshine, don't you just love it. They remind me of being a small child in my Nan's back garden playing with the garden ornaments and my dolls house which my grandparents had built and furnished for me. Ah happy happy memories.

Two challanges in one.....

Well I thought I'd try a 2 for 1, This is for Mojo Monday's sketch and Cupcake craft's red, white and blue challenges. I downloaded for Pink Petticoat on Sunday the new Frillie Millies images and this is Bonbon. She's so cute, coloured with copics, not that happy with the background paper should have printed some more off one of my pink petticoat cd's really! Anyway it made me use colours that I don't normally use which is good.

Anyway my daughter is home for the week now so choas rains at home!

Home alone still.....

I'm still in my PJ's which feels bit naughty as there's still loads of housework to do. My daughter is home for the week from tomorrow and I've still to sort out her bedroom which is full of junk and my husbands weigh gym! This is the first time she's been home since Easter so it will be wonderful to have her here for a while. No doubt we will be arguing by Tuesday teatime but that's normal! She's used to having her own space and not having to be under house rules!

Anyway the reason the housework goes undone is above, I found a craft networking site called Planet craft and have set up a page, and they have challenges so I thought I'd give one of them a go. The birdie card is from a sketch, the papers are polka doodles (new found love of the moment) A little bit of glitter and some velvet ribbon.

The other card is my attempt at a tri fold, made another yesterday but not fit for public viewing this one is ok but still a long way to go me thinks.

My husband is working again this morning but is hopefully finishing soon so I better go and get dressed and look busy....he he!!!!?????

Polka Doodles week 16 challenge - Spots & Stripes

Now these colours are a bit different for me but somehow they drew me in when I saw them on the CD. I love making the distressed flowers such fun. The giant brads and ribbons are from my stash. Had fun putting everything at angles as I usually like nice straight orderly lines.

Papertake challenge

Now I'm home alone today, so can craft and blog hop to my hearts content, the better half is working today which is very unusual for this firm but extra pennies in the kitty! So I've been doing some of the dreaded housework (sorry for swearing folks!) and I've done a challenge too.

This is for papertake weekly's challenge angels and fairies. I've had these angel stamps from graphicus for a couple of years and only really use them for christmas cards. I've coloured her with copics and blinged her up with a bit of sakura glitter pen. I've stamped and embossed the backing paper with some cosmic shimmer embossing powder. Don't you just love the sentiment/quote it just makes it a bit naughty?!!

Off this afternoon to see my friend who's just had a triple heart bypass. Looking forward to catching up with her and talking craft cos she's a fellow fan.
