Some Polka doodles stuff

Well I tried to post yesterday but blogger was being a pain in the you know where!!?? So I'll try again, I bought with my birthday money 3 new cd's from polka doodles, sugar birdies, candy doodles and the brand new jingle jangle christmas but my mojo has left the building over the last week or so. I've tried and tried but everything I've made is a bit dull and boring! I also bought my first lot of nesties but like the plum I am didn't buy the mats which I need to use them in my big shot, d'oh! Now will have to wait til I can afford to purchase them. (Unless anyone has a cheap cheat to use it without?)

So here's my polka doodles cards, please don't fall asleep or be careful if you are operating any machinery!

I've also made a start on the christmas cards so here they are....
I love my penny black hedgehogs so cute

Some odd cards just for something to do

I purchased some more templates and here's what I've made with them, quite simple with a little different from my usual stuff. The chair card was a real pain to get it to look like it has some dimension but I think it looks ok, please let me know what you think.

Cute card Thursday #74

Cute card Thursday challenge this week is 'Lazy days' summer inspired cards, well these colours just make me feel summery, nice pastel hazy colours. I love this Gorguss girl stamp I think it's my very fav at the moment as I've used it in numerous different colours. I've coloured it with copics and mounted it on some whitewashed card which has been embossed with a cutterbug folder then sanded. The papers are basic grey (The bestest ever!) The flowers are die cut with my big shot and layered up with a button and some ribbon.

Papertake challenge

On Papertake weekly challenge it's their 100th challenge and you can pick your favourite challenge to redo, So I picked 'Delightful downloads' I just love Pink Petticoat papers and digi images so these are some which I already had printed out ready to colour. I've coloured with copics and then added some highlights with my sukara glitter pen. I punched out some funky flower shapes and added some brads. It's simple like me but I like it!

Just Magnolia week 19

Here's my take on Rach's sketch for week 19's Magnolia challenge.
I've used a cute tilda with cupcake coloured with copic markers and layered up a little just to give a bit of depth. The papers are My minds eye and some whitewashed backing card slightly sanded on the edges. A little added ribbon and ribbon slider to finish.

Sunday morning walk

We decided to go out for a Sunday morning walk, most unlike us I can tell you, but I took the camera and off we went to the little reservoir a few miles up the road. We parked up in the lane and walked down to the water and then wandered the mile or so around the outside, taking in the fresh air and some much needed excercise? I took a few pics and here they are.....

View across the reservoir

View across to the birdwatchers hide
(Went in there very dark and small not somewhere I'd like to spend the day I can tell you!)

Close up on the reeds aren't they just sooo pretty?

More close ups on cow parsley, the seed heads are so sculptural!
I'm no David Bailey but I do enjoy taking the odd photo.

Happy Birthday to me....

Well I'm '21' again today, had to go to work which is very poo but got off early they owe me tonnes of hours so don't feel too guilty. I made loads of cakes for my work lot, lemon muffins, chocolate muffins, chocolate fridge cake and a fruit cake. Also made summerfruit & almond muffins but put too much mixture in the cake cases and it all went horribly wrong so they stayed at home, Shame!!!

A couple of my close friends at work bought me in gifts, so now have plenty of chocolate to eat in my craftroom yum yum and nice bottle of pink cava, hic.... My friend Clare put my gift in the coolest bag (she could have just given me the bag and I would have been happy!) Check this out, will have to take the flower gift tag thingy off and work out how to make one it's just to cool. Am I sad? Sorry, love of paper gone crazy!

Had planned to go out for a meal tonight as also our 20th Wedding anniversary but my poor husband has had a bad stomach all day, so will have to wait til the weekend, never mind something to look forward too.

Emergency crafting parcel

I found out last night that a very dear friend of mine is having to stay in Hospital for quite a while, she is a very keen crafter like myself, so I thought I'd make her up a emergency crafting parcel so she can keep herself busy whilst stuck in bed. I've stamped up loads of images and put in some digistamps, colouring in is good for the soul. Added some cards and plenty of pattern papers and a bag of ribbons, buttons and brads, so she's loads of choice. All she'll need is glue etc and away she goes. Hope it'll cheer her up, as I know she's been really worried about everything that's happening to her as am I. Hopefully be able to pop in and see her tonight as we're going in to see Dave's dad and she's on the ward on the next floor up.

Now later on I've got to make an Anniversary card for my darling husband it's our 20th wedding anniversary tomorrow (and my birthday) but I'm lost for inspiration. Can't go too girly but want it to be loving and a bit slushy. Something will come to me later no doubt? Also have to make cakes for work, usual thing. Can never work out why when it's your birthday you buy everyone else a cake?

Sugar bowl challenge 17

Here's my entry to the Sugar bowl challenge sketch. I've used a 'Gorguss girl' stamp coloured with copics. The optional extra was handmade flowers, so I made some paper ones, just circles distressedthen with a brad and some ribbon added. The papers are printed at home from a Pink Petticoat cd.

Getting my Mum a new mobile!

Bless my Mum she's in her 70's and technology just isn't her thing. She has had the same mobile phone for at least the last 10 plus years and it finally gave up the ghost last week. So she asked me to help her choose a new one? Her and Dad came over to my town this morning to pop to my local Tesco to find a cheap and cheerful phone which wasn't too hi-tech. Easy, found one which suited her pocket and is really easy to use. So I set it all up for her and tried to explain how to use it, I think texting is out of the question but I can always send her one just when I'm feeling wicked just to confuse her!! (Naughty girl of about 10 in my head really?)
Anyway she was worried that no one would know what her new number was? I really can't think why cos only me, and my daughter are the only people who would ring her on it? So I asked her for the numbers she wanted me to put on it for her, and there was me, my daughter and my home number. Bless her cotton socks. I've been teasing her about it all morning, good job she loves me isn't it!

Well, apart from tormenting my parents today I've made another card, was going to be for the Cupcake challenge but just couldn't get it come together anything like the sketch, so here it is.

Cute card Thursday #73 - At the beach

Well I know I should be making the must of the sunshine in the garden or doing some homework but I'd much rather be crafting, sad but true!
So here's my take on the Cute card thursday challenge for this week - At the Beach.
I've used a flipflop shaped card blank from craftwork cards, stamped a gorguss girl and coloured with copics. I also added a charm by stamping the same image on shrink plastic with stazon and colouring with whispers watercolour markers. I added a couple of jump rings and attached it to the card with a piece of ribbon. The flowers are punched out of scrap bits of paper with some bling added.
Dead cute I think? pity there isn't really any beach party but never mind, who likes sand in their sandwiches anyway?

Got up extra early.....

Now normal people on a day which they don't have to up to go to work until 12 o'clock would get up about 8 or 9 and then have a bit of breakfast get dressed then do a bit of housework (sorry for the swear word!??) then go off to work? But no I get up at 6am get showered and dressed have breakfast, blog hop for far too long, put some washing on and hang some on the line, (small amount of housework so don't look too lazy??!!) go up to post office at 9am sharp to pick up a parcel of templates which I'd ordered, all excited like you always are when new stash is awaiting you, then rush back home to start creating another masterpiece? Now this left me with 2 hours free to craft. Ahh the sheer joy, no interuptions just me, my craftroom, my stash, and the radio, pure heaven! So here's what I made, not just in the two hours I had before work I might add (very tempted to phone in sick as I was so in to what I was doing, but lose bonus which pays for crafting if I do that!) Finished the rest of it when I got home from work last night after very stressful day yet again, oh the joys of retail. Anyone need a manager for a craftstore in Somerset?

This is a 'Colour my world' template, I used 12"x12" card in various colours to cut the base card from then covered it in 'Crate paper' from my stash, then used loads of odds and sods of embellishments which I've had for ages. I made the distressed flowers on the 2nd B with a punched out scapolled shape, cut and inked. 3 book rings to hold it all together and loads of ribbons to hide the ugly book rings. So pleased with this, don't have anymore who's due a baby just yet, but one of my work collegues is due in December. She found out yesterday that she's having a boy and is so so excited even though her son wouldn't speak to her cos' he wanted a sister, kids hey?

Sketch and Stash challenge 16

For Sketch and Stash challenge I've used my new 'Little cotton rabbit' stamps and a few new colours of copics markers. Aren't they just so cute?
The papers are from 'Crate papers' which I've had for ages but just adore the colours, the ribbon, flowers and brads are also from my stash.
Check out the outside photo shot, just managed to take it before it started to spot with rain! Oh the joys of a British summer?

Just Magnolia challenge week 17 - Martine's sketch

With Martine's sketch I've used a similar idea to one of the DT cards and made a little note book, not quite as polished as hers but still useful. My Tilda is coloured with copics and the papers are basic grey 'Wistera' just love the colours, I so love purples and have since a young girl!

Papertake weekly challenge - four seasons

Got a little bit carried away with this challenge and ended up making a whole book style card one page for each season! I have used Gorguss girl stamps from sugar nellie coloured with copics and various papers, bit and bobs from my stash. It took me most of yesterday afternoon to make and into the evening, which I'm now in trouble with my husband for not spending any time with him. Hope you like it?

Cute card thursday challenge 72.. ..Teal & Red

Now this sounded like a really odd colour combination but I LOVE it! I used my new Gorjuss girls from Sugar Nellie 'Poppy fields' stamps coloured with copics. Isn't she pretty and I'm so pleased with how this card turned out. The papers are from a basis grey 6x6 pad, ribbons, ribbon slider and flowers from stash. I decorated the inside with some punched out circles as I'd used black as my base card.

A spoon full of sugar challenge #63

Here's my take on the 'A spoon full of sugar' challenge floral fantasy.
I've used Ruby Tuesday, design-a-flower set from Graphicus, coloured with copics markers and sukura pens for some glimmer. I've used silicone glue to layer up the flowers and leaves and added a few ribbons.

Hope you like it?

Colour create challenge week 24

Just check out these yummy summery colours for this weeks Colour Create challenge, boy do I need some brightness today the weather is poo!

I've used a cute Magnolia image coloured with a combo of copics and watercolour pens (I don't have the right copics as yet! but I will if I get my way, It's my birthday this month, money please if my family are reading any of this?)
The papers are from a sale pack I bought ages ago and the colours were just prefick! Also used some glitter card for a bit of bling. Paper button inked to give the optional heart part of the challenge. Also added some heart buttons and coloured ribbon. I also decorated the inside of the card with the same papers and a button.

Just Magnolia week 16 'Distressing'

I really enjoyed doing this one this morning, it's been a mad very, very stressful couple of weeks at work and I just needed to forget everything else that's been going on in my life and do something creative to relax.

I'd coloured the image earlier using my new 'beloved' copics markers (still really limited on colours so my card colour choices had to go with that!), next I sanded & inked my choice of papers which I can't remember the name of, sorry? then matted and layers the image over some more of the pattern papers and some glitter card. Added a couple pieces of ribbon across the centre.

Next I made a distressed flower by using my scalloped punch cutting ramdonly around the edges, sanding and inking and then pushing upwards etc, next another circle of plain card and to finish a bit of ribbon and a paper button inked to match. Added pearl brads to complete the front. I used the same techniques to distress the papers inside the card.
