All about little old me

43 years old, one wonderful daughter and husband. I love craft, card making, scrapbooking, jewellery making, altered art. I been crafting for about 8 years or so and moving house 6 years ago allowed me the space of my own craftroom. (Much to the annoyance of my husband!)

Day trip to bournemouth

On Mothering Sunday my family decided to take me out for the day, So we headed off to Bournemouth. It was a beautiful sunny day and I should have been really enjoying it but I was so completely knackered from driving on Saturday I was like a wet weekend in Glasgow! I even fell asleep in the car on the way home, I haven't done that since I was a kid!
Anyway here's some pics of our day out.
My daughter looks more like me every day, Oh dear poor girl. It's great having her home for a few weeks before she goes back to Uni.

Nottingham and back today.

I'm so tired, driven to Nottingham and back today to collect my daughter from Uni for her Easter break. Lovely 400 mile round trip, but it's great to have her at home for a bit. Already the living room looks like a bomb site, but I can live with it for a day or two before it drives me insane, I suppose?
Had a quick wander around Nottingham city centre, then went for something to eat before we turned around and drove home again. Not getting in the car at all tomorrow if I can help it! Actually that's a lie must pop over and see my Mum for Mothering Sunday.
Now going to sit and veg in front of the telly for a while.

What a beautiful day, think spring has sprung?

Well it's finally here spring has sprung! My cherry tree which is planted at the bottom of our garden is beginning to flower. I love it, it doesn't last very long but it's so so pretty whilst in bloom. The weather is bright and sunny at long last it's getting warmer too. Work has been madness cos' everyone is getting into their gardens, I love being busy at work cos the day flys by so quickly, it's great. My husband has said he's going to cut the grass when he gets home from work, I think he may find a few tigers hiding out there it's so long!!!

When it was cold recently my mum and I were talking about keeping warm, my feet are always cold (much to my husband disgust!) so as she knits she said she make me some socks. So here they are, very bright but at least I won't lose them in the washing basket!

Don't know how she has the patience to knit, but she says the same about my card making!

I've made her Mother's day card today, I can post a picture cos' she no silver surfer! I'm really pleased with it, simple but nice and girly.

My new phone......

Well I went to pick up my new phone yesterday morning, nearly didn't get it cos' I hadn't bought any formal ID with me, but managed to get the lady to accept my debit card as ID. Got it home unpacked and started to play with it, but in the process of swapping my sim card back and forth between the two I buggered it up. So now I have a new phone which I can't use until my new sim arrives! What a pain. I feel like I'm missing something without it, must remember that I managed to get through life without a mobile until I was about 25 so think I can survive a couple of days?

I've been playing

I've been playing about with the look of my blog, I would still like to make it more personal to me and not just a clone of everything else out there, but my techical ambition does not match my skills! So for the time being I've just changed to a background that matches my lovely photo. It was taken at Stourhead gardens last autumn, it was quite an overcast day but the flash on the camera helped to capture the wonderful colours in the tree. It was one of the only shots I managed to get without any people in it as it was so busy there! I can remember going there as a kid with my parents and having the place almost to ourselves. Ah, whose were the days.

Off now to get on with the twenty millions things I should be doing on my day off instead of on the computer.........

Making fortune cookies...

It's the weekend again, and some free time to do some crafting and spend some time with my husband. The weather started off beautiful this morning and now it's a bit nothing! The car's had it's MOT today and it wasn't good news, just what I needed a huge bill from the garage. Never mind needs must! Walked back from the garage and then up into the town just for something to do. We went into my favourite shop called Frame of mind which sells lots of pretty bits and bobs which I can't really afford at the moment, but nice to look at anyway.

He's gone out to watch the local footie, so I've been on my blog and checking out my favourite blogs to see what's going on and Pink Petticoat had a link to show you how to make paper fortune cookies. Give it a go I thought, so I did and here's a picture of the results.

I'm going to use these at a meeting for my team in a couple of weeks time, should be a bit of fun. They've got some funny and motiving phases in them. Might make a few more and put some prizes in there if the boss is feeling generous even to pay for some chocs or wine?

Some ME time on my day off.

My day off is here at long last and I'm going to have some ME time! It was a really busy weekend at work Credit crunch! what Credit crunch? tell the people that shop for DIY products that please! I shouldn't moan about it, It's keeping me in a job and the time just FLYS by.

The lady that sugar's away my unwanted hair has been this morning and I don't feel quite as much like a Yettie as I did! Now just need to put a colour on my greying hair and I'll feel complete again.

Well when I've done my pampering stuff I'll find a little bit of time to make another fruit cake for my husbands work mates that missed out on the first one last week. Maybe I should sell a few? Also thought that I might use my bread maker and make some home made pizza dough and have fresh pizza for tea

Here's a very favourite picture of me and my man.

Just thought better put a photo on here cos I havent' for a while.
